The Brief
A renovation of capstone teaching labs in UBC's Hennings Building (Physics & Astronomy), delivered for Urban Arts Architecture. Enduro is rebuilding the two rooms into modern instructional physics labs — new walls and ceilings, casework and phenolic countertops, acoustic-rated glazing, an upgraded electrical and lighting package, mechanical and plumbing services, and concrete and finished floors throughout.

Scope of Work
- Two-room lab reconfiguration — renovation of the capstone physics teaching labs, including new partitions, walls and ceilings built to the architect's drawings.
- Lab casework & phenolic countertops — custom millwork with chemical-resistant phenolic countertops sized to the instructional benches and the teaching layout.
- Acoustic-rated glazing & film — interior glazing with frames confirmed to an STC 45 acoustic rating, plus privacy and graphic window film.
- Electrical, lighting & power distribution — new electrical panel, baseboard heaters, cable trays, an overfloor raceway and a full lighting package, with fire-alarm tie-ins.
- Mechanical & plumbing services — HVAC with grilles, registers and diffusers, and plumbing to serve the rebuilt lab benches.
- Concrete & finished flooring — concrete floor finishing and new flooring for a durable, easy-to-clean teaching-lab surface.
- Hazmat abatement & corner protection — pre-construction hazardous-materials abatement, plus corner guards for high-traffic protection.
- Painting, hardware & curtains — painting, door hardware, and curtain and track systems to complete the instructional spaces.
