The Brief

Enduro converted dated Level 2 washrooms in UBC's Henry Angus Building (Sauder School of Business) into a fully accessible, all-gender facility. Working to HCMA's design inside an occupied academic building, the team delivered new tile, accessible fixtures, automatic doors and universal-washroom hardware — completing substantially in September 2024.

Scope of Work

  • All-gender washroom conversion — reconfigured the Level 2 washrooms into an accessible, gender-neutral layout to HCMA's Issued-for-Construction drawings and specifications.
  • Tile & flooring — new tile and flooring supplied and installed, including the pony-wall tile layout and rubber base, over a prepped and repaired subfloor.
  • Accessible doors & hardware — automatic door operators, actuators and electric strikes, with washroom hardware and dedicated universal-washroom hardware.
  • Plumbing & mechanical — new plumbing fixtures and HVAC/GRD work under a plumbing permit, coordinated with live-building water and sanitary shutdowns.
  • Electrical & lighting — lighting and power, including a new custodial-room light, closed out with a final electrical inspection.
  • Sprinklers & fire safety — sprinkler scope delivered under a dedicated sprinkler permit, with firestopping completed to spec.
  • Millwork, mirrors & accessories — millwork, mirrors, washroom accessories, a baby-changing station and a stainless sink shroud finished the rooms; coat hooks added as a late change.
  • Signage, glazing film & structural — metal and film signage and glazing film, plus structural-steel work and concrete scanning/coring for new openings.
